Los Angeles, CA asked in Domestic Violence for California

Q: The court gave my ex a restraining order o due to the domestic violence but he called me about 2 weeks ago.

The court gave my ex a restraining order because he pleaded guilty to a domestic violence back in April of 2016. Since then we have been going through a custody battle. About two weeks ago Feb 22, 2017 to be exact he called me. I have 3 constant missed calls on my WhatsApp from him. I did not answer. He called the fourth time and I answered and argued for a while on the phone. What can I do to make him stop? He has not called again but I'm scared it might happen again. I did not report it because we had court a Feb 23 and I wanted him to be there. Can I still do something about it ? Thank you.

A: Violation of a court order is a crime called contempt. You can call the police about this as well as file a motion for contempt proceedings in the court that issued the order.
