A: This is an unusual charge, but I would start with a phone call to your local police department and ask to meet with someone. Explain that you wish to file a police report. I would recommend you prepare your statement in advance and provide it to the detective. Because it is not considered a crime of violence or drug trafficking, it may not move as quickly as you like - but I recommend you remain patient and polite. If you get a report filed, request a copy and hand deliver to your district attorney's office with a letter asking to speak with the duty d.a. Again, this may not excite anyone immediately as there isn't violence or heavy narcotics trafficking, but you should remain diligent and polite. The DA may ultimately decline to file the charges, but it cannot hurt to request an opportunity to be heard and ask questions. Every case is not necessarily an easy answer.
