Q: Am I liable for my underage son's eBay and PayPal account balances
My 14 year old son secretly created an ebay and a paypal account. On the eBay account he sold a few items, the money was transferred to the PayPal account where he spent it on in video game purchases. He never sent the items and eBay issued the buyers a refund along with service charges which put both his accounts into the negative. I know the both account types require the user to be 18 so I'm not sure how he got through to successfully create and use these accounts. As a parent am I legally liable for these charges? Not sure if it matters but we reside in Massachusetts.
