Truxton, NY asked in Employment Law and Workers' Compensation for New York

Q: Why do I have to pay this bill for a work related injury?

I work at a mass production warehouse that handles stainless steel pipes for mass transit production. Although, i am payed through a temp agency. While at work I had a metal shaving go into my eye and needed medical attention. I notified a supervisor who then took me to the hospital. I got the care I needed and returned to work within three hours. This all happened on 3/2/17. Today 4/21/17 the temp agency called me and notified me that the company I worked for, did not notify them I was injured within 48 hours and I am responsible for my bills because I did not ensure my temp agency was notified. I was at work, wore safety glasses, did my job, please help.
