Q: My father (permenat resident) sponsored me so my I-797 has been approved years ago and I'm currently waiting for my case

to come up. but I'd like to know if there's any advice for me migrate to America now?

A: Have you checked the Department of State's Visa Bulletin to see how close your case is to being ready for you to immigration? The bulletin is available here: https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/law-and-policy/bulletin.html If your priority date ("spot in line") is not current/ready, and assuming you do not have any negative immigration history (e.g., visa overstay, prior removal/deportation order) or negative criminal history, you may wish to speak with a competent immigration attorney who can evaluate whether there may be any short-term solutions, such as a temporary work-visa that you can use to live/work legally in the United States until such time as your spot in line in the family-based green card case comes up. Many attorneys, like my firm, offer Skype and telephone consultations for those who are not able to appear in-person for a consultation.
