Waltham, MA asked in Employment Law for Massachusetts

Q: I was robbed by a coworker she was caught on camera stealing my money I wanted to press charges the employer did not.

I was robbed by a new coworker she was caught on camera stealing the money I was not notified of when her next shift would be . Or even her last name it turned out that her and the store manager were friends and he fired her without letting me know what time she came in the store to have her prosecuted management knew I wanted to press charges and did not hold her as a thief in the store they let her go on the run she had stolen $280 from me what rights were violated and what actions can I take I went to work at 10am the next morning since the girl had left the store at 5pm yesterday with my money after purchasing a pack of cigarettes from me with my money and I started my shift at 345pm that day so it took me till 1pm to finally manage to reach an operator that would help me that morning because my manager did not have her information ready for the police report was filed and she has a warrant now. is it a conflict of interest that the manager let her leave?what rights were violated?
