Asked in Real Estate Law and Landlord - Tenant for Oregon

Q: So I was just served a eviction notice from the court served by a sheriff with no court date what do

A: It is not clear what document you were served. IF it was a Summons and Complaint on a court eviction lawsuit, it will contain a date/time of when you need to appear in court. If you fail to do so, you will likely be summarily evicted regardless of whether you have a good reason not to be, so look carefully and call your local court house if you still do not understand what is going on. IF you were served some other form of court paperwork related to an eviction proceeding, it may or may not have a court date on it. Near the beginning of the document it likely will say exactly what it is - a Notice? a Summons? a Judgment? All are different and have different potential ramifications. So if you don't understand, take it to the court house to a clerk explain it to you or go to a local landlord-tenant attorney who can not only tell you what it is but also properly advise you as to your options and best path forward. DO NOT just ignore it - that can have devastating consequences. Good luck.
