North Las Vegas, NV asked in Medical Malpractice for Nevada

Q: Can another Dr. perform a Diskectomy surgery on you without your knowledge, when you go in for an L4L5 Fushion surgery?

June 1, 2009 I thought I only had an L4L5 fushion surgery , on 11/09/2016 I learned during that fushion surgery, I also had a Diskectomy surgery by a Doctor I never met, without my knowledge, now I'm experiencing a fail back surgery. One doctor did the L4L5 fushion surgery that I do have knowledge of, and his physician notes states the same, and another performed the Diskectomy surgery, of whom I never met, and I had No known knowledge of until 11/09/2016, when I picked up my hospital medical records.

A: Ask Justia to take this down, repost without names. Contact a member of the Nv. Trial Lawyers Assn that handles medical claims--they give free consults.

Usually you sign a number of documents, one of which authorizes various doctors some unnamed to assist in surgery. Very often back surgery has a neuro & an ortho. Most fusions involve diskectomies.
