Q: We recently were told by my daughter that she was molested when she was 9 by her 14yr cousin. She is now17 she had been
Scared to say anything. A Report was filed with police and went interviews questionings even recording Of phone call to see if 14 yr old would admit guilt. He did confess to molesting 9 yr old on 2or 3 occasions DA received case and all info and even interviewed 14 yr old but did NOTHING!!! even with a confession?!!! Are there any other routes that can be taken to show this person (who is now an adult) that he can't just get away with this and saying sorry can't take away years of uncomfortable and anxiety filled days and occasions and and just plain traumatizing damage he did to my daughter . Who now with the DA not doing anything has blames herself for family isolation and for people judging that if he didn't get in Trouble even after admitting to doing it that maybe it wasn't that serious or maybe she's making a big deal. And she even said maybe she just shouldn't have said anything because all it did was cause gossip and rumors with no justice for her sake and yes of depression
A: She can sue the cousin and potentially his parents for failure to supervise if they knew of his dangerous sexual proclivities.
A:
She should contact the victim assistance coordinator. Not clear why they won't do anything with a confession.
She should work to get another DA elected. To that end she should speak to the chair of the party that the DA belongs to.
She can certainly sue the boy, but if he has no money that's expensive.

A: She can sue for damages in civil court, and you can contact the DA via counsel to complain about their failure to prosecute.
