Gaithersburg, MD asked in Medical Malpractice for Maryland

Q: Do I have a possible medical malpractice case? Was misdiagnosed when I was having a serious gall bladder attack.

I went to the doctors in so much pain I was vomiting and could not stand upright. My insurance told me I have to go to urgent care before going to ER. I told the doctor I am in so much pain I have gall stones I think I am having a gall bladder attack. I am a biologist so I am not some crazy hypochondriac I know my body. He told me I had gas caused by the flu virus and must have pulled my back. In my mind I'm like that is odd but he is the doctor so ok. I treated myself for these problems for a day and a half. I couldn't sleep or eat or function. It got so bad I went to a different doctor. They sent me to the ER where surprise I had a serious gall bladder attack. The surgeon gave me pictures and said that was probably the worst gall bladder I have ever seen. Now they expect me to pay 200 dollars for my misdiagnosis.

A: Contact the risk manager at the facility. Explain why you think you don't have to pay. See what they say.
