Q: I have had my granson 6 years in ky how do i get defacto custody, i am on fixed income his dads inprison his mom in fla.

My son signed paper so i take to doc and enroll in school the mother did too but didnt notorize it. I get no support at all for my grandson. thank you.

A: You file a petition for custody in the county where you live alleging that you are the de facto custodian. Mom and dad will have to be served. If he’s in prison and she’s in Fl, should be easy to do. Consult a family law attorney near you to help you file the petition.
