Mattapan, MA asked in Child Custody and Child Support for Massachusetts

Q: Child support

No they were never married... A lady went to visit him at DOC and said he will be charged 80 dollars a week for child support bc the mother named him father. But he never signed a birth certificate. Never took a DNA test. And we're never married. She did request paternity through the court a few times. But however he never went to the court dates and never provided DNA... Were just very confused.. Is it possible for a judge to just name him father because he defaulted so many court dates for paternity. ??

A: He can file for paternity declaration in court, and if he's not the father he can request a dismissal of the support order.
