Jacksonville, FL asked in Child Support for Florida

Q: How do I stop child support?

My child has moved in with me, with the permission of the mother whom has primary custody. We had an agreement that she would give our son the money when he saw her or she would bring it to him, so he can save it to get car. He has been with me a month and she has not done that. She is now making excuses that she can't get across town to give it to him but is away when we try to come and get it. Just to cut down on the confusion, I just want to have it legally stopped, but money is tight. How can I do that?

A: You will need to file a Petition for Modification. There is a process and procedure to the filing and pursuit of such an action. Some attorneys who handle family law matters do work with clients on a payment plan. Some family law attorneys also accept credit card payment.
