A: If you are an immediate relative of a U.S. citizen, you can become a lawful permanent resident (get a Green Card) based on your family relationship if you meet certain eligibility requirements. You are an immediate relative because you will soon be the parent of a U.S. citizen (if the U.S. citizen is 21 years of age or older).

However, depending on how you entered into the country, you may be required to return to your home country rather than adjust within the US.

As always, please contact an immigration attorney in order to avoid catastrophic results. Contact our firm and set up a free telephonic consultation. Furthermore, our firm represents clients throughout the country if you'd like us to handle your case.
