Tampa, FL asked in Criminal Law and Federal Crimes for Florida

Q: My ex had a warrant issued for my arrest in Virginia but I live and was arrested in Florida. WHY CANT I POST BAIL????

I'm being charged with Felony Larceny, trespass. My ex-girlfriend filed charges when we broke up because I took MY DOG with me.

Florida says they can't post bail until Virginia does something and Virginia says they can't do anything until Florida post bail.

WHAT DO I DO??

Is there such a thing as "Fugitive Bond"? (Heard this info from a friend)

Can't I post bail/bond here in Florida and go back to Virginia to get these ridiculous charges resolved?

Do I really have to sit in a Florida jail for 30-45 days & wait to be extradited to Virginia before I can post bail?

I am a first time offender and I have proof that I am not guilty of the these charges against me. These are simply accusations from a distraught Ex girlfriend over a dog that belongs to me and that I've owned long before I ever met her.

I have a lawyer in Virginia and in Florida, both say their hands are tied! Is this true??

A: I'll assume you are having someone posts this for you, since jails don't provide we surfing to inmates.

That said, your lawyers should have explained how the state extradition compact works, so you know you can either waive or fight. The governments grant each other time to secure a governors warrant.
