Q: Contracted a house to purchase 7/19 expected close in 2 weeks. Informed today owner in bankruptcy

Last week informed seller died, today informed it was in April. Widow to go before judge 7/15 R/T bankruptcy. Where does this put house and existing contract?

You need to consult with an attorney to get information on the various legal proceedings and then get an opinion on the status of the closing.

A: You need to hire a lawyer as the estate may need to honor the sale to you. Whether or not the bankruptcy matters widow filed is if she was an owner of the property and on title. If not then the bankruptcy is meaningless to the piece of real estate.
