Q: What can I do?

I am trying to find what I can do about a daycare leaving my special needs child covered in feces for an hour after my child showed signs of having to use the restroom and the staff didnt take him or make an attempt to clean him afterwards. I came in to see a staff member watching my son struggle to clean himself with a small piece of toilet tissue and did not assist him. I spoke to the director she was unaware of the incident. The were no documented reports from the staff stated that guidelines were not followed but didnt address her staff

A: It is unfortunate that your son was not provided a clean and supportive environment for his needs. The matter can be reported to the licensing authority for the day care center. Most attorneys take on cases involving a physical injury to a child. Some will take on dignity type of cases but most likely will want some strong evidence including photographs clearly showing the mistreatment. Contact a local personal injury attorney to discuss further. Good luck.
