Q: What should we Do?
Our foster home was closed over a month ago, a week before that our foster kids were sent to other foster homes. We didnt get to say goodbye. At the time all anyone would say is there were allegations made. We immediately knew it was the teen we were fostering. She had told our 18yo adopted daughter the night before that she would do anything in her power to get moved because she did not like our rules. At first we called daily for weeks to our investigative worker. No answers. No call backs. We still call weekly and nothing. We are well over a month since they've been gone. We received our home closing letter. It stated we didn't abide by agency policy because we let a former foster youth who aged out of the system stay with us periodically and didn't inform the agency. And that abuse/neglect allegations were made and the investigation is ongoing. That was over a month ago. What should we do? We were days away from signing intent to adopt papers on 2 of them.
A: Hire a lawyer and go on the offensive. Make them prove the allegations made or retract everything. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.
