Carson City, NV asked in Real Estate Law and Landlord - Tenant for Nevada

Q: If the apartment I currently rent has a rent increase (carson city nv) how is it documented?

i know that any rent increase must be given 45 days notice in writing. from there does a new month to month agreement get filled out or is the notice enough for documentation. Basically I live in an apartment complex where as long as the owner gets his money he doesn't worry about the details of his apt manager. Nothing in my opinion is ever properly done. Since i have lived here the rent has been increased 2 times both without any written notice - only verbal. My rental agreement is the first one i filled out so it states the original rent amount and so on. i have been allowed to pay rent every 2 weeks for the passed 6 months without any additional fees. well now i have been served with a 5 day notice due to non payment of rent. It states an amount owing which is $125 more rent with a $30 late fee. What rights do i have to contest this other than a new rental agreement or increase that i was never given
