A: This would be an agreement which would potentially control your description of injury, compensation rate and period of disability. Therefore, it is not a simple yes or no question. It would depend on what the document says and whether you agree with the document. I would suggest that you review this document with a local attorney before you sign and return same to make sure that it does not negatively impact your entitlement to workers' compensation benefits.

A: I agree with Timothy. Since an Agreement for Compensation controls exactly what injury the insurance carrier accepts, and other crucial information, such as your rate of pay (called the "Average Weekly Wage"), this is not a simple yes or no question. Nor can an attorney answer this question without both talking to you and reviewing the document. I would agree that you need to schedule a consultation (should be free) with a local workers' compensation attorney, so you can get advice specific to your case. Good luck!

A: Are you filing for social security? Do you have ongoing medical needs? If so you only want to settle--maybe--on your wage loss. Sounds like you need to sit down and have things explained to you in person.
