Q: I got into a car accident and received the ticket for failure to yield at right of way.
The other person involved in the accident didn't have a driver's license and the insurance they had didn't have her name on it. I didn't call her insurance to ask if she was there or not because either way I was uninsured at the time as well, but the car was insured. I learned my lesson and got my own insurance. This is my first ticket. I'm just afraid of what can happen. Can you give me ideas of what to expect at court?
A: Whether the other driver didn't have their papers correct doesn't affect your issue. Your issue is did you fail to yield? If that person had the right of way, you did so plead not guilty, pay the fine and move on.
