Savannah, GA asked in Contracts, Personal Injury, Real Estate Law and Landlord - Tenant for Georgia

Q: Do we have a right to sue our landlord?

We called code enforcement and paid for a mold inspection and now the landlord has filed an eviction on us when our rent is paid up to date. I know that there are no laws for mold in georgia, but can we sue him for medical expenses and punitive damages along with the cost of the mold inspection and have any chance of winning the case?Code enforcement has already written him up for the plumbing, sewage, along with the porch that is falling in and the electrical that does not work in half of the trailer. We have receipts, pictures, and a copy of the letter that my wife and I gave him stating the problems here and asking him to let us know at his earliest convenience as to when he could fix them. He still hasn't done anything about it. This letter was sent way before code enforcement was ever called and before we ever had a mold inspector test the toxicity of the mold in the trailer.
