Marion, OH asked in Criminal Law and Domestic Violence for Ohio

Q: In Ohio do I have to testify against my husband for a DV? He is 36 and had one prior when he was 19 with his ex.

I did not want to call the cops but I yelled and my daughter called the cops. Upon arrival of the cops, I told the cop I did not want to write a statement and he stated that I had to. I do not want to testify and I have sever panic attacks and feel like this was not as serious as it was made to be. I said that he choked me but he just put his hand on my throat and did not squeeze so I think that I did not use a good choice of words. I do not want this to proceed and I do not want to testify, what are my options? Ohio
