Q: I am raising my 6 yr old nephew since he was 3 weeks old due to his drug addict mother abandoning him and abusing him
I have guardianship which she has known about this whole time and has been in trouble numerous times for drugs, now at guardianship court 6 yrs later she is lying and saying she never knew I had guardianship. She even had appeared at guardianship court 3 yrs ago. She has never done anything for this child and not once has she ever supported him in any way. I have all the proof and all she has is lies. Now she wants to get my guardianship dismissed. She is not stable and is a current gang member. What can I do to prevent this? Can I not charge her with abandonment, neglect, emotional and physical abuse?
A: Make sure your attorney knows all the history of the case and they will be able to review the court file and let the court know she had notice.

You really should have an experienced family law attorney to help you with this most important matter. If you don't have one, get one NOW! It seems like you should consider adoption of the child. It appears that you would have grounds, which your attorney can help you with.
I would say that there's no way the Court is going to dismiss this guardianship. The Court records will show that she was notified, and show the times she appeared in court, so don't worry about that, but get an attorney now to help. Good luck, your nephew needs you, and the stability you offer him.
