Q: Will Rhode Island family court allow me time to get a lawyer? I am disabled and can’t afford one.
My ex stopped court ordered visitation over 2 years ago. My 13 year old daughter decided 18 months ago she was tired of his neglect and abuse it went round and round for a year in text with all involved. He filed a motion for her to get counseling to reunify. She embraced the counseling idea but still refuse to see or talk to him. She would like to speak to the judge. I’m not sure if that’s allowed?
