Q: Roommate moves out, do I owe the rest of the rent?
Our lease states that our rent is "$1600 a month for FOUR (4) people". my roommate seems to be moving out (with no notice). will she be responsible for rent or will myself and other roommates need to come up with it?
A: Look at the rest of the lease. Usually says any one of you is responsible. So usually that would mean the 3 of you though you three can ask her for her share and can take her to small claims (but you also have to look for a replacement).
