Q: Can a DV shelter put you out on to the street with no money and no place to go because of how many days you are there?
I was in the process of securing transitional housing, trying to connect with mental health to get back on meds, basically putting a life back together when the emergency DV shelter forced me to leave because I had been there over 45 days. I was compliant and working diligently to make the next step and move to some place safe. Now I'm on the street, looking over my shoulder, more scared then ever.
A: this sounds like a policy decision not a legal one....but it does sound very harsh
