Q: Someone rear ended me, Totaled my car. Only recd 6 mos court supervision. Anything I can do?
Also he was new driver and had other kids in his car... at court he first plead not guilty, then guilty, but only to most serious charge of failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Do I have any recourse???
A: If you were injured, you need to consult a personal injury attorney. Criminal punishment is entirely within the discretion of the State's Attorney.
A: You do have recourse, but the best course of action depends on specific facts that are not provided here, such as the extent of damages and the nature of the collision. Did you or anyone in the vehicle sustain personal injuries as a result of the collision? If so, I would highly recommend you consult with a personal injury attorney immediately. A knowledgeable personal injury attorney will guide you through the entire recovery process, thereby maximizing your recovery and minimizing your stress. Furthermore, many of us offer free consultations and will represent you and others in the vehicle on a contingent basis, so it will not cost you anything out of pocket to obtain the representation and guidance of an experienced professional who handles these cases for a living.
A: Go through the insurance. If you were hurt, contact a member of the Ill. Trial Lawyers Assn-they give free consults.
