Duncan, OK asked in Criminal Law and Juvenile Law for Oklahoma

Q: my 14 yr old is being charged with a felony for possession schedule 1 in school. what kind of trouble is he looking at?

This is his 1st offense except for a few fights in school which he either got suspended or ISS. the petition states to make him a ward of the court and committed to the care, custody, and control of such persons or institutions as the court deems just and proper. what does that mean?

A: No clue why he'd be charged with a felony. As of July 1, 2017, that offense is a misdemeanor. Hire an attorney who knows the law.
