Seattle, WA asked in Family Law for Oklahoma

Q: How long after a contest to move is filed is the moving party notified of it being contested?

My fathers son told me they sumbitted to contest my move out of state which would actually put me closer to him how long would it take for me to get notified they filed the contest or how would i get information on if anything has even been filed. Also my first move 2 years ago took place with the understanding his father would be moving as well and he never did so the original order is still in Oklahoma but we reside in washington state planning to move to idaho his father never moved from missouri.

A: If they have actually filed a contest in the divorce case, they should notify you when the matter is set for hearing. You can check in your Oklahoma divorce case on line to see what, if anything is filed. Go to either www.oscn.net, and check court dockets in your divorce county, or go to www1.odcr.com to also check. Good Luck.
