Q: Can a company that I am contract worker for send me memos and letters dictating when and how i have to send my invoices?
I do some work with an agency, we did not have a written contract initially but about 2 years ago stated their attorney said they needed to have one. The first contract said i would submit invoices monthly and I asked for that to be removed b/c sometimes I like to hold for a larger check they agreed and we signed. Then about a year ago i started getting memos from the office staff telling me i can't hold them but I did so anyway (not remembering the memo). Then about 3 months ago I was mailed a letter with basically an invoicing schedule telling when I had to submit things by and when i would be paid by.
