Menomonie, WI asked in Business Law and Consumer Law for Illinois

Q: Hello, I am searching for information on the process of removing customers' old motorcycles from my dealership.

I have a couple of motorcycles that customers have left behind. One customer brought their motorcycle in to get repaired and after receiving the estimate failed to come back. The other customer's motorcycle was repaired and failed to come to pay. Both motorcycles have been sitting for many years at my dealership. Thank you

A: The answer to your question depends on specific facts that are not provided here, such as the terms of any contracts signed and the location of your dealership. That being the case, I recommend organizing everything you have in your possession regarding this matter, including the contracts, title(s), and other documents, and consulting with an attorney individually, as you do not want to make a mistake and be liable for damages in the event the customers return.
