Hicksville, NY asked in Traffic Tickets for New York

Q: No insurance tckt in NY. 2/13/18. How can I dsmss tht? Do I have to prchse insurance same day for the ticket to be dsmd?

I got an “operating without insurance ticket on 2-13-18. And “uninspected motor vehicle” the officer said I could dismiss ticket by showing proof on insurance and proof of car inspection I was very scared so I really didn’t catch much detail of what was said. Do I have to purchase insurance the same day I got the ticket In order to have a chance of having ticket Dismissed? I did not get insurance the same day as ticket, although I wanted to but Because I just got a new job and have to wait another week from 2-13-18, to get paid So when I renew insurance it won’t be on the same day I got the no insurance ticket. Also can I dismiss the uninspected vehicle ticket if I got my car inspected?

A: Being that you did not actually have insurance that day, the ticket isn't dismiss-able. This insurance ticket is a big deal. You are facing fines over $2,250 and a year revocation of your driver's license.
