Memphis, TN asked in Child Support for Mississippi

Q: boyfriend recently found out (now adult) child may not be his bio child, seeking info

Boyfriend has recently found out (now adult with children of her own/expecting currently) child may not be his, ex going as far as taking the daughter to visit/meet 'true' dad. Divorced years now. He is undoubtedly upset & is wanting info on correct steps and answers to his questions (money is tight/any pro bono/low bono/Friend of the Court available?). How to find out if child isn't his/does he still have to pay back child support( he got into arrears--semi otr driver) reason I'm checking into this. Ex is highly difficult, tried/ing to have income garnished/license/passport pulled (needed when driving into Canada). Stop child support payments? Possibly receive reverse payment from ex?

Any/all help/advice is greatly appreciated.

A: You'll need to at least consult with an attorney, who can ask some additional information. For example, was there ever a custody or child support order put into place? How long has the father been paying child support? How long has he suspected that he may not be the father? Until child support is stopped by a judge, each time child support becomes due it is like a mini-judgment against the father.
