Q: My policy is in Md I was hit in Ga.Their insurance couldnt find a policy.I have UM but dont have a police report
I took pictures and got there information myself. So the police werent called. When I filed the claim they couldn't find an active policy. My insurance is asking for the police report saying it may be required. But if they presented insurance at the time of the accident I wouldn't have known the were uninsured and to call the police.
A: You are required to file a report within 30-60 days under most policies. If it's not over that file one. Second, ask DMV to have the guy's license & tags suspended. If he has a policy that should do it. Last but not least contact a member of the Md. Assn for Justice-they give free consults.
