Riverside, CA asked in Domestic Violence for California

Q: My question is, what will happen to me if I change the police report for domestic violence ? I'm the victim, I'm a guy.

I was In a relationship with this girl for 8 months, we moved in quick, but at the time it felt right and I truly loved her. After the 8 months we broke up, over some stupid fight we had. We continued to live together for the next three months. The next three months were dreadful. We bickered, we fought, we argued. In those three months she physically hit me 3 separate times. Out of anger and under the influence. Not once did I lay hands on her. I've told her plenty of times not to hit me again. After the first two times of her punching me in the face, I was getting sick of it.

We went out to a billiards pool hall were I play pool in a league and I had 3 or 4 beers and she had 4 or 5 mixed drinks. She was clearly intoxicated, I think she was drunk, anyways, as always when she drinks we got into a big fight.

I get there is a lot of emotions going around us, but no matter how angry you get you shouldn't hit anyone. She gave me a black eye and knots on my head. I had enough. The cops

A: i assume you are suggesting you called police on her and now want to drop charges.

that happens on at least 1/3 of all DV cases. The spouse is afraid it will put husband in jail and he won't be able to pay for home, food, kids etc

most people calm down and realize they loved the person or did so in the past and do not want to hurt the person.

the problem is that it is a crime against the people of the state of California and it is not up to YOU to drop..........

if you said she hit you and now want to tell police you lied then you could expose yourself to perjury.
