Q: Can I refuse to have my 13 & 10 year old finger printed ? Also can I represent my child?

My children have no charges against them yet since they were involved in scuffle at school due to racism they are being told they have to get fingerprinted. Along with their info being transferred to the main county .

A: You cannot represent your child in a legal proceeding before a Court unless you are a licensed attorney. If this is a school situation and proceeding, however, you would have to research the rules and regulations of that school district to see what a parent can and cannot do in such proceeding. Who is making the request for fingerprints? If your children are not in custody, then you may refuse whatever, but since I do not know the totality of your situation, I can't advise as to the consequences of such a refusal. Good luck.
