The speed was not posted near location of violation and I was traveling down a hill I told the officer I was unaware of the speed limit thinking it to be 40mph this is my second violation and I can not afford to get a lawyer. Should I do mitigation or plead not guilty in court

A: You should plead not guilty and request a conference. You can represent yourself.

This is a 6 point violation, but even with the prior speeding conviction, you should be able to plead down the points.

You can also take a defensive driving class and receive an automatic 4 point reduction.
