Phoenix, AZ asked in Car Accidents for Arizona

Q: I rearended a car in middle of intersection taking off from a reg-then green light, less than 10 mph, my fault.

Got a failure for speed/prudent ticket, defetion of both are false to my actions, I had control and as a human driver could not possibly stop in time from collision of car in front only being in middle of intersection. Remember I took off from a stop light, I barely got my foot on the gas pedal, car infront took off got to 10-20 mph and then came to complete stop in middle of intersection because 1st car in front turned into entrance of bussiness that was 4ft from corner witch is probably not legal under city street code. Dangerouse entrance, but besides the point, its a false accusation to say I was speeding or prudent. I didn't even get a chance to step on brake. Case could be dismissed right. My chances are....

A: You will have to explain why you assumed no one would stop. You weren't going that slowly because or you didn't leave enough room betweeen you and the car in front, because the offenses would be driving at a speed that would not allow you to stop within the "assured clear distance ahead" which means you always allow enough room between you and the car in front so if a little kid runs out in front and the guy in front puts on their brakes you can stop without hitting them.

So you have to reframe, understanding that if others managed to not hit the car turning etc you maybe weren't looking far enough ahead?

Not sure about your tickets but you need to understand what the statutes are that you violated and I'm not seeing you do.
