Lancaster, TX asked in Divorce and Family Law for Texas

Q: I’ve been separated and far away from my soon to be husband for almost two years, I’ve moved on and have a boyfriend now

And I’m pregnant with my boyfriends baby. I have a final hearing soon, but my lawyer’s paralegal just told me that even though My soon to be ex and I have been separated for almost two years, that I would lose my final court hearing and would have to wait until after the baby is born. I can’t do this, my ex was and is abusive, he was just recently arrested for a DWI, I cannot stay married to him. I need this divorce so I can marry my boyfriend and get his insurance as I don’t have any insurance right now, and can’t get coverage through Market Place as me being pregnant is not a life qualifying/changing event. Im a high risk pregnancy and my blood pressure is through the roof and I need insurance to see a doctor to help me. I’m skipping beats and my cardiac system is bad with this pregnancy. Please help

A: Unfortunately your lawyer is right till the baby is not born and DNA testing is done, the judge won't grant you divorce.
