Q: I have a NC drivers license but i got a ticket in NY for using my gps. Will i get points on my license if i plead guilty

A: If you plead guilty you will receive 5 points in NY and NY will report the conviction to NC. You should ask a NC attorney whether the points will go on your NC record.

A: This is a 5 point violation in New York. Even though you have an out-of-state license, conviction of most moving violations in New York will result in points being placed on your record in New York.

If you reach 11 points or 3 speeding ticket convictions within an 18 month period your driving privileges in New York State will be suspended.
