Q: My spouse and I are in agreement for a non-contested simple divorce (no children, property, etc)...but...
his work sometimes sends him out-of-state (usually SC or GA) for extended periods (varies, but has been months at times). How can I still "serve" him with the documents when the time comes if he's *known* to be working elsewhere? [Due to costs and that I will be paying for this myself, I'm considering filing on my own behalf.]
*Edit: I've already contact the Houser Law Firm (same contact info as easydivorce.com) and was informed that they could NOT serve him except at his home.
*2nd Edit: my questions have been answered by another source. Thank you.
A: He can be served anywhere he can receive certified mail. You'd likely be better off to just have us do the divorce for you. We charge a total flat rate fee of $395 which often works out to be less expensive than you can do it yourself. Visit us at www.easyncdivorce.com to see if our service is a good fit for you.
