Miami, FL asked in Immigration Law for Florida

Q: My wife was approved for an EB-2 NIW; what should we expect at the final interview?

I am not an immigration attorney, but I did the original application for her (it was clear it was prepared by a lawyer so I wanted to be transparent). For financial reasons an immigration specialist was out of our reach.

I was planning on attending the interview as her lawyer rather than her husband, but since this is my first (and likely last) such interview I just don't know how these things go, and whether there's any traps or complications I should be prepared for.

My idea was to let her answer the questions and then jump in to clarify or if things get difficult. As far as we can tell there should be no legal difficulties, she was never in this country without authorization, and she's still working on the stuff her NIW petition talks about, and we have been completely transparent. Should this just be a pro forma thing?

A: Unless her country of changeability is India or China, she will get an interview in about one year after she files for adjustment of status.
