Q: I filed a motion to be heard on April 13th, 2018. I have not heard anything from the courts. What do I do?
How do I get details on my motion? Is there that much of a backlog that they would delay for almost 3 weeks? The motion is with regards to Alimony, which my ex-spouse has violated the terms and conditions of the Settlement Agreement.
A:
Thank you for your question.
All family court motions are considered to be 24-day motions. This just means that the motion papers must be filed at least 24 days before the hearing date. You should have received a Scheduling Notice from the Court indicating the date and time that your motion will be heard. You can also call the Court to confirm that your motion is still on the calendar.
I hope this information was helpful to you.
