Q: asylum granted 05/01/2013. 05/01/18 make it 5 years. green card was issued 10/2014. Can applican apply for citizenship
A:
Congrats on getting your asylum and your green card!
You will soon be eligible to apply for citizenship since you are nearing the 5-year mark. I suggest you talk to an immigration attorney to make sure you meet all the other requirements and have the necessary documentation to apply for citizenship. You should start the process and apply as soon as you are eligible, which is in 5 months.
All the best.
