I was represting myself for first appearance and want to know if eligible for court appointed attorney, can I request at any time during the matter?
A: Yes you can always hire a lawyer or request a public defender. But remember you only get a public defender IF you qualify financially for one.

A: You need to fill out a 5a form and ask the court to appoint the atty for you and they won't do it on the spot they'll rescheduled for the atty to get copy of the file and speak with you at the next court session so you're looking as more court appearances for that.
