Q: Hello, my divorce papers have no end date for support, only says pay X amount each month.
I'm self employed and pay her directly by check ea month. my divorce attorney says just to stop paying the month after youngest child graduates HS. no need to file with court. Ex wants support for youngest to go to college. I don't want to do this mainly because my income has drastically declined. Am I within my rights to stop paying without filing? Papers say "The Petitioner shall pay the Respondent the sum of "X" per month as and for child support beginning on July 2, 2007"
