Q: Need a lawyer to submit I-751? 1st case was fast, simple, no complications. Can we do it ourselves to save $?
My wife (UK) and I worked with an immigration attorney for our first case (AOS). The actual interview lasted less than 15 minutes and we were approved on the spot. We are trying to save money, and the petitioning to have the conditions removed seems like a straight-forward process that doesn't require a lawyer, unless there are complications. In our case, nothing has changed, except that we have more evidence of our relationship. Is it safe to say we can file alone without the assistance of an attorney? Thanks!
A: Your safest bet is to retain counsel. They may require another Interview. Too much at stake to risk doing it yourself. Alot of us are very affordable. Good luck.
A: Yes, if you and your wife are living together, you can submit the I-751 form and supporting documents without the assistance of an attorney.
