Q: can i obtain a court appointed lawyer after bonding out of jail due to medical reasons and kids judge wont grant me 1

after being arrested for being hit by man with road rage and racially profiled by a police officer i was charged with aggravated assault to a family member. The judge will not appointment me a court appointed lawyer because i had made bond. i have severe PTSD, anxiety and depression and my kids do too. I can not afford my own a lawyer. what can i do?

A: It is up to the Judge presiding over your case as to whether you are eligible for court appointed legal representation. Many judges believe, however, that if you found the money to post bond and get out of jail ,you can find the money to retain an attorney. Contact the local Bar Association in the county where your case is pending and see what resources are available. Good luck.
