Newport, KY asked in Family Law, Adoption and Child Custody for Kentucky

Q: Can an adoption be stopped or reversed due to being coaxed into doing it?

My daughter is bipolar and was coaxed into giving her father custody of her 3yr old baby so that the baby would receive money from his disability. Is it possible to stop or reverse the adoption. My daughter agrees that she is not fully capable of caring for her daughter and was coaxed into it and now her father refuses to let me ( grandma) or anyone else see the baby now because the police were called by my daughter because she feared the baby may have been molested based on something the baby said. I have been getting the baby nearly every weekend. The baby is 3 months behind on her shots, has never been to the dentist, has had 4 stys in her eyes with no Dr visits, she is not in preschool and way behind on where she she should be. We were told that a case was opened up by CPS but not sure.

A: You should hire a local lawyer to go in and ask the court to set aside the adoption. After it becomes final it may be too late.
